Bea Watts
Elder
Bea has attended Legacy since 2018 and became a full-time member of the church in June 2021. She began serving as an Elder in November 2022 and transitioned into the role of pastor over women’s ministry in April 2023. Bea loves teaching and preaching the Word of God, and it shows through the various levels of impact she has had on multiple Legacy ministries! Whether leading a women’s Bible study lesson or heading up a group for Sunday pre-service or Thursday night prayer, Bea has always maintained a desire to see others grow in the giftings and callings upon their lives!
When it comes to her service as an Elder, Bea regards it as “an honor and privilege” to serve her Legacy family in this fashion. Her vision for herself as a leader at Legacy is “to be used by Holy Spirit to bring wisdom, unity, and growth in the Word of God to others, and to see lives and families transformed through a greater understanding of the Word.”
Bea and her late husband, Larry, the love of her life who went to be with the Lord in early 2022, have led and served in multiple ministerial roles over the past 50 years! Having met and married in Hale Center, Texas in 1962, the duo pastored Assemblies of God churches in Texas and New Mexico for 14 years, as well as pioneered and pastored two non-denominational churches over an additional 23-year period. They both served as senior directors of Branches of Gold and ministered at Bastrop Christian Outreach Center in Bastrop, Texas for six years. And the twosome were on the pastoral team at Lighthouse Church in Baytown, Texas up until Larry’s passing; Bea still serves in this role on a monthly basis, preaching, teaching, praying for healings, and being used in the Gifts of the Spirit to minister to others! She describes herself as “an organizer, planner, and director” over her many years in ministry, which includes teaching in prayer schools, conducting camp meetings, and facilitating beautifully elegant mother/daughter brunches over the years.
Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Bea was raised in the Lubbock/Plainview area of West Texas. She has lived in New Braunfels since 2018. In 2010, she retired from Lifetouch Church Directories and Portraits having worked in sales and as a photographer for 10 years. Bea was also a certified instructor with SilverSneakers from 2018 to 2020, teaching nine seniors-based fitness classes per week. She loves camping, birdwatching, and exercising (especially water aerobics), and she loves the challenge of a good card game or playing dominoes.
Bea’s greatest loves are her three children, two “children-in-loves,” six grandchildren and their spouses, and five great grand babies! She also has an enormous amount of love for the great number of spiritual children she has connected with through all her years of ministry and life!
