Sue Elkins
Director of Altar Ministry
Sue and her husband, Mike, began attending Legacy in May 2022 after moving to New Braunfels from California with their daughter, Kristy, in November 2021. She has a highly diverse ministerial background spanning over 40+ years in roles such as church elder service, inner healing and deliverance counselor, children’s director, and administrative/women’s pastor. Sue began serving as director of altar ministry at Legacy in April 2023.
Having led many intercessory prayer groups and altar ministry teams over the years, Sue has a pure heart for loving others through the power of prayer. As altar ministry director, she believes “we are the heart, hands, and feet of Jesus… and we need to love and minister to others with intentionality. As altar team ministers, we hear God’s heart for those around us and we minister from a place of power and friendship with the Holy Spirit.”
Sue served as an elder at her church in southern California for nearly a decade in the early 1980s through early 90s, as well as provided counseling services for inner healing and deliverance from 1984-1989. She holds an advanced certification in counseling and leadership through Vision International University bible college in Ramona, CA where she was an administrative pastor/registrar and inner healing/deliverance counselor from 2005-2010. And in 2011, Sue formed her own ministry (Woman at the Well) that currently provides inner healing and deliverance services.
In 1986, Sue was recognized as a prophet by Larry Randolph and her home church. She has had the privilege to meet and know many prophets over the years such as Randolph, Tim Sherman, Rick Godwin, and Kim Clement. And Sue has gone on outreaches with Arthur Blessitt, the preacher who is known for carrying a life-sized cross around the world in every nation (Blessitt holds the Guinness World Record for the longest walk/pilgrimage at over 43,340 miles in 324 countries, island groups, and territories)!
Born in Hayward, CA, Sue was filled with the Holy Spirit during the Jesus People Movement of the 1960s and 70s. She and Mike have been married for over 50 years and have six wonderful children – Kristy (our director of prayer), Aaron, Breanna, Jared, Robert, and James – and one amazing son-in-law, Luke. She loves spending time with her family (including 14 grandchildren), reading, decorating, entertaining guests, and studying. And, with her passion being to see revival in the hearts of people, Sue longs for another great move of God on earth like the Jesus People Movement.
