Madeline Sanders
Director of Children's Ministry
Madeline began attending Legacy with her family in the spring of 2023 and has been a volunteer in the Legacy World Changer’s Children’s Ministry since 2024. In May of 2025, she accepted the open position of children’s ministry director when Pastor Erica officially stepped out of the role to focus solely on youth ministry. Madeline’s high sense of integrity and commitment to excellence make her the perfect fit to lead our children to new heights of success!
Madeline’s call with children, and her vision for the ministry, is to “raise up the next generation in Kingdom identity, authority, and love.” Her desire to impart to children not only applies to church ministry; Madeline taught ballet to kids while in an apprenticeship program in Louisiana during her early teen years. And when comparing teaching ballet to teaching children about Jesus, Madeline believes both require establishing a strong foundation to achieve success.
“In teaching a child anything, it all comes down to establishing strong fundamentals and basics on which greater concepts are built. It is our job as teachers to first lay down a strong foundation so kids can then be raised up for the greater things they can accomplish. When a child first learns to dance, it is difficult for many because everything is new, and the body is not familiar with doing unnatural things. But over time, as kids learn to be teachable and greater foundations are built, their abilities increase and you get to watch them soar!
It’s the same with teaching children about Jesus; you enable them to walk in freedom by first building an unshakeable foundation of who they are in Christ.”
Madeline was born in Baton Rouge, but lived most of her life in Slidell, Louisiana. She moved to New Braunfels with her family in 2018 after having lived in San Antonio for a few years as a young child. Aside from her passion for dance, Madeline loves to read, write, and create art (both painting and drawing). She enjoys being out in nature and loves to learn musical instruments and anything music related.
