Erin Ivy
Director of Children's Ministry
Erin began attending Legacy with her husband, Tim, and their two amazing daughters in February 2025 and stepped into the role of children’s ministry director in May 2026. She has a rich history of ministry experience having served on prayer teams (2007-2010), in youth leadership (2008-2010), and in young adult leadership (2010-2011) at Summit Christian Center in San Antonio. She was also involved with Healing Rooms of San Antonio and served as a children’s ministry supervisor at Sojourn Church in Carrollton, Texas from 2014-2015. Erin and her family moved to New Braunfels in June 2021.
Erin has always been passionate about leading and teaching children, earning her teaching degree in 2006. During her time in New Braunfels, she has worked as an elementary director and teacher for First Baptist Kids Academy (2021-2026) and is currently an English/Language Arts teacher at the 7th/8th grade and Junior/Senior levels for Grace Preparatory Academy. For Legacy, she believes the vision for children’s ministry is to “show kids how much they are loved by God and their extended Legacy family, to impart how exciting a relationship with Jesus truly is, and to help guide them to experience that relationship for themselves! One of the ways we do this is to equip them with the knowledge of God’s Word.”
Born in Houston, Erin is a 2003 graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station with a degree in Speech Communications and English. She loves writing, reading, listening to live music, and shopping at thrift stores. Erin is also an avid dancer having served as a creative worship team member at Redemptive Grace Ministries from 2023-2025.
